Buchholz a step closer to Fenway

  1. The future looks bright on the bump for the Red Sox . Clay Buchholz is currently the most prized possession in the farm system and last year's performance proved Jon Lester could pitch in the Big Leagues. Lets stop the flow of future championship talk for a moment and discuss the here and now of Triple-A Pawtucket. After blowing away the Eastern League (AA) with a 7-2 mark that included 116 K/ 86.2 IP, Buchholz got the promotion to Pawtucket. With that comes some growing pains vs. higher competition. He has to look no further than down the bench to Lester, who has had his share of struggles this season. All that aside Sox fans, you can be guaranteed that these two phenoms will be toeing the rubber at Fenway in the near future.
